We believe camp is not just for kids, its for everyone! People of all ages benefit from time outdoors, breaks from technology, and connection to others. Camp Fontanelle plans several programmed retreats throughout the year to provide opportunities for everyone to experience the life change camp offers . Details on each retreat are below.

Bring your class, homeschool group, or youth or community group to camp for a fun-filled day of activities. We have a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces available. We also offer activity choices, both staff facilitated and self-led as well as meal options.

Lodging

Camp Fontanelle offers a wide range of lodging options for groups wishing to hold overnight events. From our two main lodges, Olson and Riverview, with their bunkroom style accommodations, to Deere Lodge for smaller groups with smaller dorm style rooms, and our unique camping caves, Lamberson and Mohler, for a rustic experience without the tents.

Activities

Self-Directed

These activities are included for any group that stays at camp at no extra cost. Site Maps are available.

Built as an Eagle Scout Project in honor of Simon Jones who passed from cancer, Fort Jones is a replica of an old time fort. Campfire area, upper observation deck. Nearby there is a unique roller slide to ride down.

5 miles of hiking trails of varying distance and difficulty. Trail Maps are available. 

The Jumping Pillow is a fan favorite of guests groups and campers! Get some serious air as you enjoy a bouncing good time!

Basketball court, soccer field, sand volleyball, gaga ball, nine square in the air, human foosball, bean bag tosses, corn hole. Plenty of space for group games like tag, capture flag, relay races, etc.

Staff Lead

These activities have an added fee because they require a staff member to lead them. Options are based on staff availability during your stay.

Archery is available for groups with participants ages 9 and older. Cost is $5 per person and a minimum of 10 participants is required.

Our barrel train is pulled by a lawn tractor and travels around our recreation area. Recommended for ages 2 – 10. Cost is $1 per person, minimum of 10 required.

One of our newest activity additions our Foam Party is a hit for all ages! A foam machine fills an area surrounded by inflatable “walls”. Cost is $

Hatchet throwing is available for ages 13 and older. Cost $5 per person, minimum of 10 participants.

Take a ride in a wagon pulled behind our tractor. Great fun for all ages. Cost $1 per person.

Accept the challenge to scale our portable Rock Climbing Wall! There are 4 routes to the top with varying difficulty. Cost is $5 per person, minimum of 10 participants.

Enjoy time in colling off in the pool! Pool depth ranges from 3ft to 7ft. NO Diving. Lifeguard MUST be on duty at ALL times. Available seasonally from June to August. Cost $5 per person per hour.

Team Building is a set of initiatives that help a group learn to work better together through various exercises that have physical and mental challenges. As groups progress through these activities they move toward the ability to try one of our Low Ropes Challenge elements. The most important part of the experience is the debriefing process at the end of each initiative where the group can process how they worked together, who emerged as leaders, how well they listened to one another, etc.

Cost: $5 per person with a minimum of 10 participants.

Take an exciting 350ft down and back ride on our zipline! Minimum weight of 50lbs. Cost $10 per person. Minimum of 10 people.

Meals

Groups have the option of having camp provide their meals for an extra fee per person per meal. These meals would be served in Riverview Lodge. Groups can also provide their own meals. Options for that are based on where the group is lodged.

Camp is able to provide meals for retreat groups based on staff availability and group needs and budget. When camp provides meals they are served in Riverview Lodge unless otherwise noted. Pricing structure for meals is below.

Breakfast: Hot $10
Continental (no cook): $8 (Can be served in Olson Lodge)
Lunch: $12
Dinner: $15
Campfire Cook-out: $12
Snack: $3

Groups can provide their own meals during their stay. Options for cooking meals on your own are based on lodging.

Olson Lodge: Access to kitchen (with $100 deposit) with induction stovetop, oven, microwave, two fridge/freezers, and coffee maker. Groups can also bring their own crock-pots. Groups should bring their own paper products and utensils.

Riverview Lodge: The dining hall area has a microwave, fridge/freezer, and the ability to bring your own crock-pots. Groups are NOT able to access the commercial kitchen. Groups should bring their own paper products and utensils.

Deer Lodge: Access to a small kitchen area with microwave and fridge/freezer. Groups have the option to bring their own crock-pots. Groups should bring their own paper products and utensils.

Caves/tents: Groups have access to nearby fire rings or to the 7:24 Shelter with a small kitchen area that has a fridge.

    Founded in 1959, Camp Fontanelle, a member of Great Plains Camps, Inc is accredited by the American Camps Association and was named one of America's Best Summer Camps by Newsweek in 2024. We welcome campers from all denominations as well as those who do not attend church.
