Frequently Asked Questions
We have a healthcare coordinator on staff who handles all medications. During check-in ALL medicine that needs to be taken or is brought to camp MUST be turned in to our healthcare staff member. There are exceptions for inhalers and epi-pens that need to be with the camper or their counselor at all times, but these should still be listed on the medical form and communicated to the healthcare coordinator at check-in. All medications should be in their original container, labeled with the camper’s name. Dosing instructions should be included on the camper’s medical form.
Campers do NOT need money at camp. The only exception to that are campers in Zoobilee who have the option of bringing money for the gift shop at the zoo. The Camp Store is only open during Check-in and Check-out so there is no opportunity for spending money during their week at camp.
Campers should not bring their own food. Our kitchen staff are very good at accommodating dietary needs. In rare instances, with prior communication and approval, campers with extremely specific needs may be able to bring their own food.
